Coaching Practice - Continuous Professional Development for Coaches
Coaching Practice - Coaches Asynchronous Collaborative Mastermind Community (Whassat?)
As a business psychologist, director, hr professional and coach, I have to achieve so MANY hours of continuous professional development (cpd) every year just to retain my professional practising certificates.
This year I counted and kept track of more than 96 hours of cpd! (Not counting the life coaching certificate, degree in computer mending and my thousands of hours spent coaching people)
From 'first hand' experience as CPD Advisor for the Midlands (for the Institute of Personnel & Development), I know first-hand just how hard it is for people to find the time to do it!
So MANY excuses: There's always "Too much", that you have to do, "People to see, places to go". There is also 'resentment', I have got to say, caused by the 'corporate-type-prices' for cpd trainings - often set by 'Born-Again' capitalists.
How can sole practitioners or smaller organisations afford it? They are all so strident too.... They'd say: You "MUST do this", and "You must do that."
Don't you just wish - they MUST take a running jump...?
How can you build a professional practice and manage your practice more successfully in an increasingly competitive marketplace, AND 'keep the wolf from the door'?
The answer is ....
Learn from your friends and colleagues in your Mastermind class! Who better to learn from than people who have already built their successful practices in bricks and mortar and on the web?
Well you've got to SEE the technology to believe it! It is SO elegant and wikidly addictive!
Then I thought, wouldn't it be great if we had our own MASTERMIND coaching community, where we could learn from each other, how to build and maintain our own successful coaching practice using all new media, technology and networks?
Wouldn't it be great if that community believed in contributing and helping each other build coaching programmes, launch coaching services, make passive incomes with news, views, trews and cpd?
So I mentioned it to a few of my friends and colleagues who are coaches and they SNAPPED my hand off. "Let me at it? Where is it, Can I play? When do we start? Will you invite me? How do I reserve my place? Can Maureen join? (Maureen? Who's Maureen?) Will you take apprentices? What about an elite 'SWOT' team of top european coaches? (Or should that be 'SWAT'?)
So we are HAVE and ARE developing all these good things AND a forum where coaches can talk together, analyse each other's web and product offerings, talk over issues, get a mentor, be a mentor, learn how to make money, learn new methodologies, borrow free web tools, donate tools, tips and techniques, 'get' the latest, attend classes and generally develop themselves professionally in a safe, secure environment.
Sound's Cool? No kidding. It is very cool. It is a 'MUST'.
