Career Change - Ten Qualities Interviewers Should Look For When Interviewing

151558-265679-thumbnail.jpgJoe Hodowanes has an interesting list of qualities that interviewers should look for when interviewing. The one I like the best is 'Loyalty':

"Look for loyalty to your cause. Loyalty means not that I agree with everything you say or that I believe you are always right. Loyalty means that I share a common ideal with you and that, regardless of minor differences, we fight for it, shoulder-to-shoulder, confident in one another’s good faith, trust, constancy, and affection."

As I reread the list of interviewing 'MUST HAVES' it made me think how often clients with whom I am working like to 'hide' these skills and attributes. Sometimes it is as if they are saying to themselves. "If the prospective employer 'loves me enough'/is 'Worth his salt,' he will FIND out my potential for himself."

1) Appear to have 'Energy'               'I strive to appear 'Cool''
2) Hard Worker                              'They might want me to
                                                  work weekends'
3) Appearance                               'Never judge a book by
                                                   it's cover'
4) Track Record                             'I don't want to be labelled'
5) Maturity                                    'I'm in touch with my
                                                   inner child'
6) Respect                                    'I am not a wage slave'
7) Money                                      'Makes the world go
                                                   round'
8) Solving Problems                         'I can see at a glance'
9) Loyalty                                     'They have to earn mine'

10) Affability                                 'I am an interesting
                                                  multi-faceted personality'

If you accept any of these descriptors yourself then you might need some help fine-tuning your career. Give me a call for a 10 minute chat: +44 121 706 1623.
