new.gifI've achieved my dream - there is really however no way of saying this lightly... but I'm emigrating from the UK to Canada. This does not in anyway mean that I am deserting you Brits, I will always be here for you. Just moving continents, that's all.

(My Skype name is: careersnet and www.18185.co.uk charge only half a pee per minute)

You see sometime ago I took some of my own medicine and started envisioning my world without a barbed wire-political and social environment, surrounded by kind, civilised people who had time to party, people who worked hard and played hard without the single-minded selfishness of driven-stressed out paranoid souls.

Sound achingly familiar? I'm sure if you are a beseiged Brit then you will know only too clearly what I'm talking about. But how did we let it happen?

The fact is that 87% of British people give to charity, (According to the Independent newspaper's Encyclopedia) and if we say, a few percent of those who don't give to Charity were money-laundering, tax avoiding, identity-theft, guilty perpetrators - that still leaves the majority of Brits who are old-fashioned NICE. (And I don't mean the department of 'NICE')

We are not nasty, NOR any of the above. We simply don't understand 'NASTY' and that's why it has been so easy for stealthy nasty things to have been done to us. We, in our innocence and good-natured lazy complacency have allowed plausible psychopathic individuals, basically, to run rings round us.

Wake up, wake up, for gawdsakes wake up! You are truly awesome when roused.

We were never frightened into submission before - our very refusal to bow to terror threats was one of the things that made us strong and proud. Our refusal to give up our hard won civil liberties was one of the things that made us respected the world over. You don't believe me? You think I'm sounding off? Coming to a screen near you, soon:

'THE MOST DISGUSTING AND VILE ACT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE...'

'UCPD officers shot a student several times with a Taser inside the Powell Library CLICC computer lab late Tuesday night before taking him into custody... Laila Gordy, a fourth-year economics student who was present in the library during the incident, said police officers threatened to shoot her with a Taser when she asked an officer for his name and his badge number.

Sickened by what you've seen? Me too. Stand up, stand up......

Then take five minutes to do something about it. Find out who your MP is and email them. Just rave at them about anything you disagree with - it's amazing how receptive they are and how much you can do to make a difference. As Margaret Mead said (loose quote) 'An individual in a good society has a good life. An individual in a bad society has a bad life."

Back to Canada: They're not perfect, but there is a window of opportunity for them to build defences or simply avoid the mess that we've got ourselves in. Maybe five to ten years. During which time, you know, I will do my damndest to help.

Here's how we made our big change happen, we got a scrapbook and cut out pictures from newspapers and magazines pictures that reflected the lifestyle that we wanted and heh! presto! It has appeared. Next month when I get my scanner out of shipping hock, I'll show you the picture of the house beside the lake that I rescued from underneath the cat food bowl.

Give me a call and wish me bon voyage. In the meantime, you can:

Career Coach Yourself?

Thinking of you
